My photograph, "In a realm of knowing," from the series "Where you are," will be included in the exhibition Common Ground: A Celebration of Our National Parks at the David Brower Center. The exhibition, which runs from May 20 through September 8, 2016, celebrates the centennial of the United States National Park Service through art.
The David Brower Center is located at 2150 Allston Way, Suite 100, Berkeley, CA 94704, and can be reached by phone at 510-809-0900. An opening reception is scheduled for Friday, May 20, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m..
According to the exhibition press release, the work by 20 San Francisco Bay area artists - including photography, painting, textile art, sculpture, and mixed media works - "cohesively solidifies artists as allies of national parks with themes that show the glory and bounty of the lands, while bringing attention to environmental concerns."
Jurors for Common Ground were Stephanie Hanor, Director of the Mills College Art Museum; Katrina Traywick, Director of Traywick Contemporary; Laurie Rich, Executive Director of the David Brower Center; and Sean Uyehara, Director of Programs, Headlands Center for the Arts.
